________________________

Original members of Silver Heels first came together by a stroke of luck in 2018 playing around a campfire at a farm party. The group began developing their dynamic, eclectic sound playing brewery shows for beer and tips, and eventually called both old and new friends to join them on stage. Primarily playing covers in the early days, they found their rhythm putting their own spin on old traditional songs and their favorite Tom Waits deep cuts. When, in 2019, guitarist and songwriter Owen Howes approached the band with a set of original lyrics, a first album began to take shape.

Silver Heels honed their new set playing stages around Portland, culminating in the recording of their self-titled first album at Acadia Recording Company in Portland's Bayside neighborhood. Their debut is an exploration of introspective narratives set in the backdrop of the bands’ coastal roots. Keys, bass, and drums meld to create a powerful undertow while horns, guitars, and harmonies howl in the high rigging.

Silver Heels’ current iteration is Ian Leavitt (vocals/keyboard/guitar), Mike O’Neal (saxophone), David Vitali (drums), Charles Kemos (lead guitar), and Joe Greene (bass).
